This app is a must for any iphone artist. Possibilities open as wide as the sky when you use your own photos as filters. One warning - it is incredibly addictive!

I love this app!!! I rarely bother with filters anymore as I can so easily get the exact effect/coloration I want. So simple and brilliant! Thank you!!
Was surprised when the app required that I run location services, something not necessary for any of my other photo apps. Was even more surprised when, after turning loc. services on, I scrolled down the list of apps asking to use the service and did not see Color Thief listed among them. Why wasnt it visible like the rest? Needless to say Ive deleted it from my Touch.
Went to color thief website. They showed an easy "tap" on the image to view a color palette. Exactly what I wanted. Downloaded app. I can scroll through my images and make the colors of one apply to another one. Nice I guess but not what I wanted to do.... Found no ability to create a color palette.
I look forward to updates and new features that add to this amazing app!
Sometimes you take a picture knowing that what you saw was photo-worthy, but the results dont quite convey what you were trying to communicate (missing "vibe")... Enter ColorThief. Swapping palettes sometimes unlocks that missing essence;other times it yields startlingly unique and otherworldly results.
I really like this app, but recently the pictures from my album arent showing up :(
After using for a few minutes the images go black.
Only sees 72 out of 2000+ photos in my camera roll.
I feel like this app is the way better than any clone-filter-instagram-like photography app on a market. It gets you nice pics if you select decent source image for color picking. It is a unique app yet it could be used solo or supplementary
The idea is excellent but this app feels like its not fully cooked. Like others I noticed more often than not the colors just didnt translate over well. Nowhere near like the samples theyre showing. Does it do what its supposed to? Yes. Does it do it well? Not really. Besides this app hasnt been updated in two years. Likely abandoned.
Stumbled on this App, and I am glad I did. Its simplicity and ease of use are secondary to the unique and great colorization tool it really is. You basically can colorize one photo with the color palette of another photo. And it does it so well. Worth the price, and I am shocked that this App isnt at the front of the line amongst all these color splash like Apps out there. I love the effects you can achieve!
Just updated and so sorry I did. The old interface was MUCH better--simpler, more intuitive, etc. I HOPE I can find a way to return to the former version.
Now Color Thief is better than ever! Love the ability to see three color-matching photos at once, based on chosen pic. There is no other app like it. Thanks, developers!
I want my money back
I used to LOVE this app but the update ruined the interface. In the old version you could flip the top photos color scheme to the bottom photo, and flip the bottom photos color scheme to the top photo by hitting a button on the border of the two photos. Now that ability is gone and the app is ruined! I cant use it the way I want to anymore. I wish I could give it ZERO stars!!!
I love this app. Spin the dial and you will find such unexpected, yet beautiful color combinations. Color Thief can take a prosaic image and bring it to the wild side. I have used hundreds of filter apps. This has been one of my keepers and is part of my essential tool kit
I had to write a review to combat the negative ones. Out of hundreds, maybe thousands of mediocre camera apps that do all the same sh!t..catering to all the mediocre people that want instant satisfaction and artistic results with zero effort...and finally one comes out with a refreshingly unique approach. I dont look for all-in-one photo apps because I always find that they fall short trying to do too much. I look at them as tools that each have a function to assist an artistic vision. And although this app doesnt have an incredible amount of variable manipulation, what it does do is very cool. For the artists out there that like to experiment and explore unique and random landscapes this app is for you. Thats my two and a half cents.
